Maryville Mo.-The University of the Ozarks competitive cheerleading team continued its success at major competitions by earning a gold bid to Nationals at the NCA College Cheer Camp this week.
Competing as the only NCAA Division III team at the event, Ozarks was the third highest scoring team across all divisions. With its performance, the program earned an automatic bid to the 2018 NCA national competition in Florida. Ozarks took first place in the All-Girl Intermediate Game Day competition and second place in the Rally Routine competition. Ozarks placed third in its Game Day Run-Off performance, topping Rogers State University, Oklahoma Baptist University and Ottawa University. There were 17 teams at the camp hosted by Northwest Missouri State University.
"The hard work and dedication that was displayed by each athlete resulted in huge team success," said head coach Frances Mills. "I am so proud of everything this team has accomplished so far this year. I am excited for the future of this very talented group of athletes."
