The Eagles raced out to a 15-10 lead early, and it looked as if an upset might be brewing, but Texas Dallas stormed back to take a 97-81 conference win. The early lead was attributed to the Eagles hot first half shooting, which allowed them to stretch the lead to as many as 12 with a Dylan Gray three-pointer at the 8:32 mark. Three-point prowess was the glue that held the Eagles offense together in the first half. They finished an impressive 7-for-15 from down town and only trailed by 6 at the break. Dimitrius Underwood, who had 18 of his game high 29 in the second half, guided Texas Dallas to a phenomenal final frame. The Comets kept the pressure on in the second and the Eagles were never able to regain the momentum they obtained in the first. Unfortunately on senior night, Ozarks was unable to mount a late comeback. Gray posted an impressive line on his senior night, finishing with 20 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists. Bryson Johnson also starred with 15 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists. Underwood, Jon Hatcher, Caleb Banks, and Hans Burwitz all finished in double figures for the visiting Comets.
The Eagles committed 15 turnovers to the Comets 4, and Texas Dallas took full advantage by scoring 21 of their 97 points off turnovers. The visitors put up 70 shots while Ozarks only managed 58.
Ozarks enjoyed an efficient night shooting the ball, finishing 50 percent from the field and nearly 40 percent from beyond the arc.
Next Thursday, the Eagles will travel to Pineville, Louisiana to take on Louisiana College.
