January 16, 2018 Wrestling Team Battles Drury In Dual Springfield, Mo.-The Eagles traveled to Drury University Tuesday and fell 33-8 against their NCAA II opponent. Nathaneal Rankin (125) and Jacob Sherrill (174) posted wins. Rankin won by Tech Fall (17-2) and Sherrill won by decision (4-1).
January 10, 2018 Eagles Handle Ouachita Baptist In Wrestling Dual Clarksville, Ark.-The Eagles took care of business at home Wednesday night handling Ouachita Baptist University 31-16 in a dual. The Eagles wasted little time putting on a show for the home crowd. Ozarks posted wins in three of its first four matches to set the tone. Nathaneal Rankin (125), Jaylen York (141) and Ny'Trell Dean (149) opened with wins. York displayed great patience in his fight and Dean ignited the crowd with a pin. Jacob Sherrill (174), Miguel Baray (184) and Adolfo Sotolongo (285) rounded out the event with wins. Sherrill dominated his opponent, while Baray struck early in his fight to finish with a win. Sotolongo had another pin on the season to cap the dual.
January 6, 2018 Eagles Place Fourth At Central College Under Armour Invitational Pella, Iowa-The Eagles finished fourth at the competitive Central College Under Armour Invitational Saturday in Iowa. Ozarks had a number of standout individual performances. At 125, Nathaneal Rankin, Corey Muniz and Devon Jackson (two) posted wins. At 133, Siaygnoun Hnamnhouane posted a pair of wins. At 141, Jaylen York had two wins. At 157, Keshawn Franklin had a win. Also at 157, Russell Miller gained two wins. Adolofo Sotolongo advanced to the championship match winning three straight. Sotolongo would eventually fall by decision 1-0.
December 30, 2017 Wrestling Team Tops Huntingdon College 30-17 At NWA Duals Clarksville, Ark.-Freshman Nathaneal Rankin and sophomore Tracey Eitel both posted two wins at the NWA Duals Saturday in Clarksville to fuel a strong performance by the Eagles. Rankin (125) and Eitel (165) helped the Eagles earn a 29-15 win over Huntingdon College in the final event of the day. Adolfo Sotolongo (285) capped the team's effort with a big win over Kori Walker (Fall 1:30). Also picking up wins against Huntingdon were Russell Miller (157), who defeated Jared Mercer (Fall 6:39); Jacob Sherrill (174 ), who topped Robbie McKenna (Tech Fall 2:34); and Cameron Barnes (197), who defeated Cody Dixon (Dec 6-1). University of Dubuque opened the day with a 30-17 win against the Eagles. In addition to wins by Rankin and Eitel against Dubuque, Jaylen York (Dec 18-13) and Ny’Trell Dean (Fall 5:34) were victorious.
December 16, 2017 Wrestling Team Tops Lakeland At Gator Boots Dual Nashville, Tenn.-The Eagles wrestling team competed in the Gator Boots Dual Saturday in Tennessee finishing 1-2 at the event. Ozarks had a dominating effort against Lakeland earning a 44-6 win. The Eagles dropped matches against Thomas More (28-19) and Luther (36-8). The Eagles had individual standout performances from Corey Muniz, who posted an undefeated 3-0 record at 133, and Ny'Trell Dean, who had two wins at 149.
December 12, 2017 U of O FCA Chapter Assists With Operation Christmas Child Clarksville, Ark.-The University of the Ozarks chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes recently volunteered its time and resources to assist in Operation Christmas Child.
