Clarksville, Ark.-University of the Ozarks senior Hannah Smith was named the American Southwest Conference Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Smith, a native of Blue Eye, Mo., paced the Eagles with a time of 20:23.6 to finish 15th at the UCA Cross Country Challenge against numerous NCAA Division I runners to claim her second career Runner of the Week honor. Her 5K time was the fourth-fastest in program history. Smith was All-Conference last season and named the U of O Female Athlete of the Year.
Ozarks will compete in the Chile Pepper Festival September 22.
