Concordia University Texas starting pitcher Matthew Williams threw a three-hit shutout to lead the Tornados to a 4-0 win over the Eagles Friday. After a quick first inning from Williams, the Eagles had runners at second and third with one out in the second, but the right-hander worked out the jam with back-to-back strikeouts. From there, Williams retired the side in the third inning, fifth inning and seventh inning.

The Eagles hung within one run midway through the game before Concordia scored a pair of decisive runs in the seventh to hold onto a 8-5 win. Trailing 4-0, the Eagles scored three times in the fourth on two hits. Fielder Dufrene, Josh Stephens and Rey Lozano recorded RBI to make it a 4-3 game. Concordia answered with a run in the top of the fifth, but the Eagles responded with a RBI single from Rocky Liveoak in the bottom half. Zach Stanley made it 7-5 in the eighth, but that would be the final run for the Eagles.
