Women's Soccer Team Dominates Regular Season Opener

Rebecca Peterson recorded three assists in a 5-0 win over MacMurray College Saturday.

The Eagles opened the regular season in grand fashion scoring five goals while posting a shutout against MacMurray College Saturday. The Eagles held a 4-0 halftime lead as it dominated the visitors from Illinois. The Eagles were on the offensive attack and held possession of the ball most of the day. The home team had 17 shots in the first half alone. Skylar Brown quickly put the Eagles in front 1-0 with a goal in the third minute. The freshman rebounded a ball in the box and ripped past the keeper.  Angelica Najera followed with a goal in the 11th minute and Joey Long scored in the 27th minute to put the Eagles ahead 3-0. Lara Wadle added another goal in the 34th minute to top off a dominant first half. Wadle chipped one in over the keeper's head. Finally, Amber Taylor connected on a shot in the 66th minute for a second half goal. In all, the Eagles accounted for 25 shots, while only allowing one shot.

The Eagles scored four goals in the first half to control the match. The Eagles recorded 25 shots.
