GAME ONE
Overview:
Abilene, Texas – The Eagles opened the conference season with a 5-0 setback against Hardin-Simmons University Friday afternoon. Hardin-Simmons limited the Eagles to four hits in the contest. The Cowgirls scored once in the first inning and three times in the second inning to own a 4-0 lead. The Eagles loaded the bases in the second, but couldn't push any runs across.

GAME TWO
Overview:
The Eagles came up short 11-8 in game two on Friday against Hardin-Simmons. The Eagles scored first as Jessye Rowland doubled in a run and Saige Mahar singled in a run for a 2-0 advantage in the top of the first. But the Cowgirls responded with seven runs in the bottom half of the first. The Eagles got two runs back in the top of the second on a Mack Lucio two-run triple. The Cowgirls responded again, this time with three runs in the third to gain a 10-4 lead. The Eagles fought back scoring a run in the fourth on a Lucio RBI single. Trailing 11-5 heading into the final frame, the Eagles rallied again. Mahar, Rayli Ruby and Kya Schmidt all singled in runs in the top of the seventh. The Cowgirls were eventually able to record the final out to stop the Eagles from scoring again. The Eagles outhit the Cowgirls 14-11. Mahar went 4-for-4 while Schmidt went 3-for-5. Lucio drove in three runs.
