Clarksville, Ark - The men's tennis team capped Senior Day with a 9-0 win over Austin College on Saturday.
Prior to the match, seniors
Zachary Winans and
Hikaru Yamaya were honored in a Senior Day Celebration Ceremony.
The Eagles cruised to a 3-0 lead to open the day after sweeping doubles.
Carlos Molero Llopis and
Joshua Wilde won 8-3 at No. 1 doubles.
Kento Iwahara and
Hikaru Yamaya defeated their opponents 8-1 at the No. 2 spot. At No. 3 doubles,
Kao Lenkopane and
Perry Guidry posted a 8-0 win. The Eagles carried that momentum into singles. Yamaya, playing No. 1, won 6-4, 6-2 against Trey Salyer. At No. 2 singles,
Joshua Wilde defeated Luke Henley 7-6, 6-3. In No. 3 singles, Lenkopane posted a 6-4, 6-2 win against Evan Pezirtzoglou. Guidry took a 6-2, 6-2 win against Joel Colunga at No. 4. At No. 5,
Sergio Munoz defeated Zeneth Mata 6-0, 6-0. Winans played No. 6 in the lineup and won 6-1, 6-0 against Mario Diaz.
The Eagles will host conference opponent UT Dallas March 29.
