Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles continue their successful season as a number of wrestlers placed at the Cliff Keen-Mike Duroe Invitational on Saturday in Mount Vernon, Iowa.

The trio of Shelton Chastain (125), Javin Douglas (133) and Demetri Teddlie (157) all finished third in their respective weight classes. Philip Saenz Jr. placed fifth in the 285 weight class.

Chastain won by tech fall over Yousuf Zigan from Luther (TF 22-1), but then lost to Jayson Stevens from Cornell College by decision. Chastain battled back to win by fall over Raekwon Shabazz from Wartburg (Fall 4:31), win by decision over Dalton Whitehall Gikes from Wartburg (Dec 8-5) and win by medical forfeit over Noel Rosales, Jr. from Luther. Douglas won by tech fall over Mateo Ochoa from Luther (TF 17-2) to open the day. He won by decision over Cael Weinzweig from Wisconsin-La Crosse (Dec 8-2), but then lost to Jayden Rael from Cornell College by decision (Dec 5-2). Douglas came back to win by fall over Clyde Adams from Ozarks (Fall 1:21). He followed that by winning by decision over Matt Haldiman from Wisconsin-La Crosse (Dec 3-0) and won by major decision Rael (Maj 11-0). Teddlie won by tech fall over Alex Bumba from Loras (TF 16-0) and then won by major decision over Ethan Ballweber from Augsburg (Maj 13-2) in the quarterfinals. Teddlie would lose to Charlie Stuhl from Augsburg by decision. He won by tech fall over Blake Jagodzinske from Augsburg (TF 18-1) and won by decision over Kaiden Knaack from Wartburg (Dec 7-3) in the third place match. Saenz won by fall over Remington Hiser from Blackburn (Fall 4:06) and won by tech fall over Dillon Bailey from Wartburg (TF 17-1). In the quarterfinals, he won in sudden victory - 1 over Tyler Casey from St. Ambrose University (SV-1 6-5). He then lost to Jagger Schack from Augsburg (Dec 2-0).  Saenz won by fall over Remington Hiser from Blackburn (Fall 4:06) and won by tech fall over Dillon Bailey from Wartburg (TF 17-1). He won in sudden victory - 1 over Tyler Casey from St. Ambrose University (SV-1 6-5), but lost to Jagger Schack from Augsburg by decision (Dec 2-0). Jake Walker from Wartburg won by fall over  Saenz (Fall 4:56). Saenz then won by medical forfeit over Tyler Casey from St. Ambrose University.

Clyde Adams posted a pair of wins at 133. Cameron Hebert had three wins at 141. Luke Adams had two wins at 141. Airamis Mendoza had four wins at 165. RC Morris had two wins at 184. Trystan Blenis had three wins at 157.
 
The Eagles will travel to Illinois to compete in the two-day Pete Willson Invitation January 31-February 1.
