Wrestling Team Nationally Ranked At No. 25

Clarksville, Ark. – The University of the Ozarks wrestling team received the program's first dual national ranking as the Eagles came in at No. 25, according to The Open Mat rankings released today.

Under head coach Vinny Barber, the Eagles have posted a 6-3 dual record this season with one win over a nationally-ranked opponent. The Eagles have been showered with numerous individual rankings and accolades thus far. The team has had the most regionally-ranked wrestlers in program history with six. The Eagles have been awarded St. Louis Intercollegiate Conference (SLIAC) Wrestler of the Week five times this season.

"Receiving national recognition as a team is a testament to the guys and their work," said Barber. "We've had individuals ranked, but as a team this shows our continued progress and growth. It's an exciting time to be an Eagle. What a great way to head into this post season stretch."

Last season, the Eagles won the inaugural SLIAC Championships and four wrestlers won individual titles. The Eagles look to defend the title as the championships will be hosted by Ozarks February 15.
