Eagles Win Fifth Straight Austin College Dual

Clarksville, Ark. - The women's swim and dive team had another win against Austin College Saturday in Texas.

The Eagles won 110-76 and have now topped Austin College five straight years in duals. The Eagles won four individual races, including the 200 free (Jessie Wright), 100 fly (Jessie Wright), 500 free (Samantha Naramore) and 100 breast stroke (Cecily Sanchez).  

In the 1000 free, Naramore finished second (12:13.28), Isabel Shelton was third (14:07.0) and Gracie Morris was fourth (14:37.13). In the 200 free, Wright had a time of 2:02.21 for first. Ashtyn Smith was third with a time of 2:14.83 and Journey Blackwell was fourth with a time of 2:25.79. In the 50 free, McKinley Mize was third with a time of 28.91, Lillian Reid was fourth with a time of 32.82 and Sara Niemann was fifth with a time of 33.43. Sanchez (2:35.07) and Riley Holcomb (2:44.68) finished second and third in the 200 IM. Wright posted a time of 1:03.99 to win the 100 fly. Smith followed with a second-place finish (1:07.42) and Niemann was third (1:32.70). Blackwell was third in the 100 free (1:02.89) and Mize followed with a fourth-place finish (1:03.56). In the 100 back, the Eagles had the third, fourth and fifth place winners. Reid (1:28.07), Emma Gilmore (1:30.47) and Alexa Montanez (1:43.93) all placed. Naramore won the 500 free with a time of 6:00.13. Shelton followed with a 6:53.46 and Morris was third (7:02.25). Sanchez had a time of 1:18.63 to win the 100 breast stroke. Holcomb had a 1:20.91 for third and Gilmore had a 1:40.59 for fourth. 

The Eagles will travel to Centenary College for a dual November 1.
