Clarksville, Ark. - The fall semester proved to be pivotal for the tennis team, providing meaningful matches that solidified the team's identity under new leadership.
"It was a good fall to see who I had and what they can do," said head coach Brad Jones. "We played a strong tournament season with many good matches."
The Eagles concluded their fall tournament with an impressive performance, securing four doubles' wins and 13 singles' victories across matches played on November 7-8 at the beautiful Alexander-Boreham Tennis Center on campus. This competition provided the team with the opportunity to refine their technique and assess their progress heading into the spring season.
Senior Erika Jones highlighted the team's growth.
"We're doing a great job building a strong foundation for the spring," she said. "The main focus is staying consistent and working on our technique to make sure we're ready for next season."
Senior Joseph Guidry, also known as Perry, echoed this optimism.
"As a team, we stood out," he said. "Our ability to talk through issues and work out challenges is something I'm really proud of. It's going to be a good spring."
After facing several high-caliber opponents this fall, the team feels energized and confident about what's ahead. Coach Jones added that this is a "pretty excited, great group" and expressed enthusiasm about continuing the work when spring training begins.
With strong momentum and a unified team mindset, the Eagles are gearing up for an exciting spring season.
