GAME ONE
Overview:
Kerrville, Texas – The Eagles opened conference play with a 5-1 win over Schreiner University Friday afternoon in Texas as starting pitcher
Morgan Haupt threw a three-hitter.
Mack Lucio and
Lori-Ann Hughes each drove in runs in the first inning for an early lead. Schreiner scored in the second inning, but the Eagles rallied for two more runs in the fourth. The Eagles final run came in the sixth. Haupt finished with four strikeouts and issued just one walk. Lucio went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate.
GAME TWO
Overview:
The Eagles had a huge seventh inning scoring four runs en route to a 6-2 victory in game two. Schreiner owned a 1-0 lead all the way until the sixth inning. The Eagles would score twice in the top of the sixth, once on a Lucio RBI triple and the other on
Kyndal Garner's RBI single. After six, it was tied 2-2. However, the Eagles took control of the game in the seventh. The Eagles had four hits in the frame, highlighted by RBI from
Kya Schmidt,
Jordan Hodges and Garner. Garner finished with two hits and two RBI. Lucio would receive the win.
