GAME ONE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark. – Centenary College kept the Eagles off the board until the bottom of the fifth and won 8-2 in game one. Centenary scored six before the Eagles would plate a pair of runs in the bottom half of the inning.
Kyndal Garner and
Isabella Husley would have RBI in the frame. But Centenary got both runs back scoring once in the sixth and once in the seventh. The Eagles had 12 hits, but left 11 runners on base. Five Eagles had multiple-hit games led by Husley who went a perfect 3-for-3.
GAME TWO
Overview:
Centenary College scored a decisive three runs in the top of the eighth to record a 9-6 extra inning win in game two. The Eagles held a 3-0 lead after the third when Husley started the scoring with an RBI single up the middle.
Lori-Ann Hughes had a single through the left side of the infield to drive in
Jordan Hodges. Finally,
Makinzie Erwin was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score the third run. Centenary came right back in the top of the fourth with four runs to take the lead. The Eagles then responded with a sacrifice RBI on Hodges' flyout. The Eagles would take the lead back in the fifth with another run. Centenary tied the game, 5-5, in the top of the sixth and then go ahead 6-5 in the top of the seventh. However, the Eagles answered with a run in the bottom half of the frame on Erwin's RBI single. In the top of the eighth, Centenary put all the pressure on the Eagles as the Ladies scored three times on three hits. The Eagles outhit the Ladies 14-11 in the game. The Eagles again left 11 runners on base. Hughes went a perfect 4-for-4. Erwin had three RBI to go along with two hits.
