Clarksville, Ark. - The National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) announced its 2025 NCAA Division III Scholar All-Americans for men's wrestling and the University of the Ozarks program had four achieve the honor.
Seniors
Demetri Teddlie (157) and Gabe Sheikh (174) and juniors
Shelton Chastain (125) and
Zander Payne (141) received the distinction. Teddlie is a health science major from Shreveport, Louisiana. Sheikh is a general studies major from Houston, Texas. Chastain is a health science major from Mustang, Oklahoma. Payne is a biology major from Bella Vista, Arkansas. All four won individual titles at the 2025 St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship this season while earning First Team All-Conference honors.
In order to receive the NWCA Scholar All-American honors, wrestlers must place in the top-8 in the regional tournament or wrestle at least 15 matches and have a win percentage greater than 66%. In the classroom, wrestlers must have an average GPA of 3.2 over the last two semesters or must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2.
Additionally, the program earned the NWCA Team Scholar Award for the 2024-25 season after posting a 3.54 GPA.
