GAME THREE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark. – Kya Schmidt knocked in the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh to push the Eagles past McMurry University 3-2 on Friday. The Eagles rallied from a 2-0 deficit by scoring two in the sixth and one in the seventh. McMurry broke open a scoreless game in the top of the sixth with a two-run homer. Pitching was dominant as neither team could get much offense going through five innings as there were only a combined three hits at that point. Ozarks starter Jordan Hodges allowed only two base runners while McMurry starter Mackenzie McClellan had six strikeouts through five frames. In the sixth, McMurry had a runner on first and then bunted her over to second. McMurry then smashed a home run for the first runs of the game. In the bottom of the sixth, Karsyn Tencleve drew a walk with no outs. Skylar Ward then ripped a single through the left side of the infield and Mack Lucio followed with another single to load the bases with one out. Kyndal Garner delivered a clutch single to centerfield to score two runners and even the score 2-2. In the bottom of the ninth, Lori-Ann Hughes led off with a double to left center field. Hughes advanced to third on a bunt. Tencleve drew a walk for the Eagles second runner on base. Schmidt was the hero as she poked one to left field for the go-ahead run. Lucio paced the Eagles with two hits. Hodges took the win after tossing a three-hit complete game. She walked only one in her outing.

The Eagles will travel to Texas to face Austin College April 26-27.
