St. Thomas Tops Eagles On Senior Day

GAME ONE
Overview:
Clarksville, Ark. – University of St. Thomas posted a 8-0 win over the Eagles in game one on Sunday. A pair of home runs gave St. Thomas a 3-0 lead after three innings. In the fourth, the Eagles had a runner on first and second with one out. But St. Thomas was able to strand both runners. Leading 4-0, St. Thomas loaded the bases with no outs in the sixth. Morgan Haupt got the next batter to strike out, but the Celts followed with a two-run single. The Celts then had a two-run triple to make it 8-0. Makinzie Erwin went 2-for-3 for the Eagles.

GAME TWO
Overview:
St. Thomas limited the Eagles to a pair of hits and won game two 7-1. Chloe Bennett blasted another home run for a 3-0 lead in the top of the third. St. Thomas added two runs in the top of the fourth. Meanwhile, the Eagles bats were frozen through 4.2 innings. Kyndal Garner would break up a no-hitter with an RBI single in the bottom of the fifth to make it 5-1. The Eagles put runners at first and second with one out in the bottom of the sixth, but St. Thomas got a pop out and then a fly out to end the threat. Following the game the Eagles four seniors were honored in a celebration ceremony. The seniors included Allison Cowart, Mack Lucio, Siage Mahar and Kya Schmidt
