Brad Jones Named Head Women’s and Men’s Tennis Coach

Clarksville, Ark. – University of the Ozarks has announced the hiring of Brad Jones as its new Head Women's and Men's Tennis Coach. Jones joins the Eagles after a successful six-year tenure leading NCAA Division III Brevard College in North Carolina.

During his time at Brevard, Jones guided the Tornados to three consecutive USA South Conference Tournament appearances on both the men's and women's sides. This past spring season, the women's team had its sixth straight winning season while the men's team posted its most wins in over a decade. Jones guided multiple athletes to All-Conference, Player of the Week and Conference Rookie of the Week awards during his tenure. His 51 wins on the women's side rank among the best in program history.

"We are excited to welcome Coach Jones to the Ozarks family," said Dr. Sergio Molina, Director of Athletics. "His experience developing both women's and men's programs, along with his deep understanding of NCAA Division III athletics, makes him an ideal fit for our tennis programs. We look forward to the energy and leadership he'll bring to our student-athletes."

A native of Bristol, Virginia, Jones served as the Head Coach at Bethany College in West Virginia from 2017–2019. During his stint at Bethany, he revitalized both programs, snapping a four-year losing streak for the women's team and guiding the men's squad to an 11-7 record in his final season.

"I am truly grateful for the opportunity to take on the role of Head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach for the University of the Ozarks," said Jones. "I'm excited to lead both programs and to utilize these top-tier facilities to support our training, growth, and pursuit of excellence. I'd like to thank President Dunsworth, Athletic Director Dr. Sergio Molina, and the Search Committee for believing in my vision and leadership. I'm eager to get to work and lead our student-athletes to success both on and off the court."

Prior to his tenure at Bethany College, Jones was a Tennis Pro at Westwood Country Club in Vienna, Virginia.  He also served as the Director of Tennis at the Darnestown Swim & Tennis Club in Darnestown, Maryland and the Assistant Tennis Coach at the River Falls Swim & Tennis Club in Potomac, Maryland.

Jones' collegiate coaching career began in 2009 at NCAA Division III Emory & Henry College in Virginia, where he served as an Assistant and then Interim Head Coach. The 2010 season was highlighted by a 15-6 men's record and a trip to the ODAC Championship Quarterfinals. Prior to Emory & Henry, Jones coached at Abingdon High School in Virginia where he earned Southwest District Tennis Coach of the Year honors.

An accomplished student-athlete himself, Jones played at Emory & Henry, earning All-Conference honors in 2007. He holds a bachelor's degree in Sports Management (2007) and a master's degree in Community and Organizational Leadership from Emory & Henry.
