Conway, Ark. - Hendrix College earned a 6-1 victory over University of the Ozarks on February 28 in Conway, Arkansas.
Hendrix swept all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. Evelyn Sandlin and Josie Leffingwell defeated Kelsey Smith and Brooke Humphrey 6-1 at No. 1 doubles. Caroline Lasley and Aysha Hosam claimed a 6-1 win at No. 2, while Kate Adcox and Abby Youngberg completed the sweep with a 6-0 victory at No. 3.
In singles play, Hendrix secured five of six matches to clinch the team win. Caroline Lasley defeated Kelsey Smith 6-3, 6-0 at No. 1, and Josie Leffingwell earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Brooke Humphrey at No. 2. Kate Adcox added a 6-2, 6-2 win at No. 4, while Aysha Hosam topped Jayden Vazquez 7-5, 6-3 at No. 5. Abby Youngberg rounded out the scoring for the Warriors with a straight-set win at No. 6.
Ozarks picked up its lone point at No. 3 singles, where Madison Hamilton battled to a 7-5, 7-6 victory over Evelyn Sandlin.
The Eagles will travel to Mississippi, for matches March 6-7.
