Eagles Split Double-Header With Mission University

Bentonville, Ark. - The University of the Ozarks softball took a 6-1 game two win over Mission University on Monday at Bentonville High School. 

Ozarks tallied 11 hits and used a big first inning to take control, while Bailee Cowell delivered a dominant performance in the circle.

Fast Start Fuels Ozarks
Ozarks wasted no time setting the tone, scoring three runs in the opening inning. Bailee Cowell started the rally with an RBI single, followed by an RBI knock from Kamryn Uher. Uher later capped the inning with an aggressive steal of home to give Ozarks a 3-0 lead. The Eagles added a run in the second when Cowell drove in another run, and extended the lead to 6-1 in the third behind RBI hits from Lori-Ann Hughes and Brilea Rofkahr.

Cowell Leads in the Circle and at the Plate
Cowell (9-3) was outstanding in all phases, earning the complete-game victory. She allowed just three hits and one run while striking out seven and not issuing a walk. At the plate, she finished 2-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the offense.

Offensive Production Across the Lineup
Ozarks produced consistently throughout the lineup, highlighted by: Mission had a solid performance in the circle to defeat the Eagles 3-0 in game one. Mission collected 13 hits and capitalized on early scoring opportunities to take control, while Ozarks was limited to just four hits in the contest.

Early Momentum Sets the Tone
Mission wasted no time getting on the scoreboard in the first inning. The visitors added another run in the second inning when Kloe Hendrickson singled up the middle to extend the lead to 3-0.

Ozarks Offensive Struggles
Ozarks was unable to generate sustained offense, managing just four hits on the day. Isabella Hulsey, Sage Adams, Skylar Ward, and Grace Price each recorded a hit, but the Eagles couldn't string together scoring opportunities.
