Irving, Texas - The women's tennis team fell 5-2 to the University of Dallas in SCAC women's tennis action Saturday in Irving, Texas.
Dallas took early control by winning two of the three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. The pairing of Avery Williams and Kathleen Roset earned a 6-1 victory at No. 1, and Dallas edged out a tight 7-6 win at No. 2. Ozarks picked up its lone doubles win by forfeit at No. 3.
In singles play, Dallas continued its momentum with four victories to clinch the match. Avery Williams defeated Kelsey Smith 6-3, 6-0 at the top spot, while Colette Asan (No. 3) and Evelyn Powell (No. 4) added straight-set wins. The most competitive match came at No. 5, where Cecilia Webb rallied past Yamileth Lopez in three sets, 5-7, 6-0, 7-3.
Ozarks earned two points in singles. Brooke Humphrey secured a solid 6-4, 6-4 win at No. 2, and Emerson Corbin added a victory by forfeit at No. 6.
The Eagles will now prepare for Concordia University Texas April 17 and Texas Lutheran University April 18.
