Clarksville, Ark. – Under first-year head coach
Brad Jones, the men's tennis team qualified for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships held April 24-26 in Kerrville, Texas.
The Eagles are the No. 4 seed and will take on No. 5 seed University of St. Thomas at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Matches will be played at the George and Frances Cree Tennis Center on the campus of Schreiner University and at the HEB Municipal Tennis Center.
"I felt that we finished the second half of our season on a very strong and positive note," said head coach
Brad Jones. "The guys are going into post season play with a ton of confidence and energy. We are treating our trip to Kerrville as a Business Trip, and that's exactly what the guys are planning on doing. We want to go down and take care of Business."
Under Jones, the Eagles had the three Conference Singles Player of the Week winners and three Conference Doubles Team of the Week honors. Joseph Guidry and
Sergio Munoz had double-digit wins in singles play this season. Munoz lost just once in conference play while winning eight. The doubles tandem of Guidry and
