Eagles Drop Semi-Finals Match

Kerrville, Texas - The University of the Ozarks men's tennis team fell to top-seeded Colorado College, 4-0, in the semifinal round of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament at Kerrville, Texas, on Saturday.

The Eagles and Hendrix College were scheduled to play on Sunday, but the match was cancelled due to inclement weather.

For his efforts at the SCAC Championships, Sergio Molina was named to the All-Tournament Team at No. 3 singles.

The Tigers established control in doubles competition by capturing the first two completed matches. At No. 1 doubles, Colorado College's Justin Boder and Dominik Kaminski defeated Kento Iwahara and Perry Guidry, 6-4. The No. 2 pairing of Sam Dilworth and Lenny Lehmitz followed with a 6-4 win over Sergio Munoz and Zachary Hanson to secure the doubles point. The No. 3 doubles match between Ryan Rosalin and Archie Martyn-Smith and Nick Anderson/Sam Lessard was left unfinished with the score tied 5-5.

The Tigers extended their advantage quickly in singles competition. At No. 2 singles, Lenny Lehmitz defeated Haru Satomura 6-1, 6-2 to give Colorado College a commanding 2-0 lead. Ross Cockrell followed with a 6-0, 6-3 win over Zachary Hanson at No. 5 singles, and Sam Lessard clinched the match at No. 6 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Archie Martyn-Smith. Several matches remained unfinished at the time the team result was decided. At No. 1 singles, Kento Iwahara was leading Dominik Kaminski 6-4, 3-5 when play was halted. Sergio Munoz (No. 3) and Perry Guidry (No. 4) were both in competitive third-set positions when the match concluded.
