Clarksville, Ark. – For only the second time in program history, the University of the Ozarks softball team has qualified for the post-season.

The Eagles secured the spot after a strong performance against Centenary College over the weekend. In his first year at Ozarks, head coach David Kuhn will lead the Eagles into the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship Tournament, which will be held on the campus of McMurry University in Abilene, Texas. The six-team tournament will be played May 2-May 3.

The Eagles (21-19, 14-16 SCAC) are the No. 5 seed and will take on No. 4 seed McMurry University (16-19-1, 15-15 SCAC) on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. 

"It is huge for us to qualify for the playoffs, especially in front of our home crowd," said head coach David Kuhn. "I'm really excited about our team. We want to keep building on this."

Under Kuhn, the Eagles posted the program's most wins in a season with 21. Pitcher Bailee Cowell set the season program record with 15 wins in the circle and has been Conference Pitcher of the Week during the 2026 season. The Eagles are hitting .301 as a team and have six players hitting above .300, led by Isabella Hulsey, who owns a .372 average. Hulsey is also the team leader in home runs (5), hits (42) and RBI (34). Emma Reynolds leads the team with 23 stolen bases, 34 runs and five triples. Hulsey and Brilea Rofkahr both have a team-best nine doubles. The five other starters hitting above .300 are Kamryn Uher (.333), Cowell (.326), Rofkahr (.316), Reynolds (.310) and Price (.308).

The Eagles other post-season appearance came in 2018. The Eagles last hit above .300 as a team during the 2020 COVID-shortened season.
