Joseph Guidry won his third Academic All-District honor.

Joseph Guidry Earns Third Academic All-District Nod

Clarksville, Ark. – For the third time in his career, Joseph Guidry was named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's Tennis Academic All-District Team, it was announced this week.

CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the court. 

Guidry, a senior finance major from Lafayette, Louisiana, has been among the most decorated tennis players in program history. Guidry produced a career year for the Eagles on and off the court. The honors graduate was named to the All-Conference First Team in doubles after he and his doubles partner compiled an impressive 15-5 record playing at the No. 1 spot. The duo had a 7-2 conference record and won SCAC Doubles Team of the Week three times during the season. Guidry posted 37 career doubles wins, third-most in program history. He owns 30 career singles wins, fourth-most in program history.

Additionally, Guidry has been a member of the Academic All-Conference Team and ITA Scholar Athlete Team. Guidry was also recognized by the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference as a Character and Community recipient.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be a significant contributor to the team (be in the lineup for 70% of the total matches played by the team that includes team scores), and be at least a sophomore academically.
