THE BASICS
The men's cross country cross country team ran in its most competitive race in program history at the 8k Southern Showcase competing against 20 NCAA I schools, including a pair of SEC teams, on Friday morning in Huntsville, Alabama. The Eagles, the only NCAA III school in the race, placed 28th overall. University of Alabama won the race with a score of 15. The first runner to cross the line for the Eagles was Matthew Dunsworth, who ran 26:21.3 for 169th place. Gavin Jasenof followed with a time of 26:23.2 for 172nd place. Henry Lesley ran a 26:25.4 for 176th place. Ruben Parra ran a 26:34.9 for 187th place and Jase McAbee posted a time of 26:53.1 for 212th place to round out the top-5. Diego Martinez was next for the Eagles running a 27:03.9 for 226th place. Kaleab Haileselassie ran a 27:06.3 for 228th place, Omarion Shaw ran a 27:23.2 for 244th place, Brooks Thompson ran a 27:30.5 for 249th place, Gmar Britton ran a 27:41.3 for 264th place and Peyton Jones ran a 31:18.8 for 302nd place.
