Men's Wrestling Announces 2024 Recruiting Class

Clarksville, Ark. – Head Coach Vincent Barber announced the addition of 22 wrestlers to the University of the Ozarks Men's Wrestling roster for the 2024-2025 academic year.

The incoming class features an NCAA Division II National Championship Qualifier, three state champions and thirteen state placers spanning over six states.

"We are thrilled to welcome what could be our strongest recruiting class in recent years," said Barber. "Our incoming group of young men are talented, motivated, and ready to contribute to our program's growth. Coach Rankin and I are extremely excited to get these young men on campus and get to work with them right away. We will be a young team next year, very young – only one senior. It's exciting."

Barber added, "this recruiting class reflects the diligent efforts of our exceptional staff. Coach Rankin and Howell are outstanding recruiters who have worked tirelessly to identify individuals who will thrive within our program and university and make an instant impact."

The Eagles will start the 2024-2025 season with their annual outside dual on November 2.

University of the Ozarks Class of 2024:
  • Demetri Teddlie – Shreveport, LA – "Demetri will be transferring in to finish his final year of competition. We are extremely excited to have him in purple and white with us for his final year. He was an NCAA Division II National Qualifier at his previous university. We look to make a strong push to Rhode Island in March with him this upcoming season."
  • Iyanuoluwa Akingbolagun – Round Rock, TX – "We expect Iyanu to come in and push to be the guy right away. He has a college-ready body and has a high ceiling. He can step in right away for us at 197lbs."
  • Javin Douglas - Yukon, OK – "Javin comes to us from Mustang High School, a great program, and has had a lot of success in his prep career, a two-time Oklahoma State Placer, and Geary Invite Placer. He has a high wrestling IQ and a great feel. He can push for the spot immediately and be impactful for us at 133lbs."
  • Elijah Teiberis – Jefferson City, MO – "Elijah is a state placer from Missouri who wrestles and competes at a high level. We look forward to working with him and watching him develop and push our lightweights daily."
  • Cameron Hebert – Maurice, LA – "Cameron's best wrestling is still ahead of him. He has placed at the Louisiana state championships in high school and has done a good job traveling and competing at many national level events. We are looking forward to having him here and watching him continue his upward progression."
  • Trystan Blenis – Hutto, TX – "Trystan is a guy that I am familiar with. I coached him when I had my youth club in Texas. I have kept up with him and watch him develop into a tough young man. I am excited to get back working with him and see him continue to develop."
  • Brayden Crouch – Springfield, TN – "Brayden wrapped up his prep career placing in the state tournament. He has a great build and has great fundamentals. He looks to have a lot of fun when he competes, that is important. He will add depth for us in our upper weights."
  • Caden Robison – Stonewall, LA – "Caden comes from a very solid North Desoto program in Louisiana where he was a state finalist. He's going to be a great fit for our program and university, and I can't wait to get him in the room."
  • Michael Gilreath – Keithville, LA – "Michael has won three state titles in Louisiana, so we know he knows how to perform at a high level. We are looking forward to watching that transition to the next level here."
