THE BASICS
Abilene, Texas – Hardin-Simmons University scored 31 points in the first quarter and never looked back as the Cowgirls took a 104-51 win over the Eagles Saturday in conference play. Hardin-Simmons led 54-21 at halftime. In the second half, the Cowgirls didn't allow the Eagles back in the game as they shot 63 percent in third quarter. In the fourth, the Eagles would make just three field goals. Heaven Hayden scored 17 points to lead the Eagles. Kelsey Ground came off the bench to score 11 points. Naomi Smith pulled down 12 rebounds.
