THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. - East Texas Baptist University had a big second half outscoring the Eagles 42-28 to pick up a 68-62 win Saturday. The Eagles held a 34-26 halftime lead, but the Tigers shot 54 percent in the second half to roar back. The Tigers also went to the free throw line 19 times, while the Eagles went just three times. Tylan Jackson and Timquorian Johnson hit back-to-back shots to close out the first half with momentum. Josh Ukpe hit a three-pointer to open the second half and the Eagles controlled the next seven minutes. But after that, the Tigers took a lead. The Eagles held a 56-55 advantage with 2:57 remaining, but that would be their final lead of the game. Tim Eldridge led the team with 17 points.
