Clarksville, Ark. – The Millsaps Majors overcame a slow start to rally past the Eagles, 62-56, on Thursday afternoon at Mabee Gymnasium.  

Trailing by nine points at the end of the first quarter, Millsaps (10-1) leaned on a balanced offensive effort and key defensive stops in the second half to improve their impressive record. Haley Franklin led the Majors with 17 points, shooting 8-for-14 from the field and grabbing five rebounds. Garin Freeman added 12 points and three assists, while Whitney Novak contributed nine points, including three crucial three-pointers.  

Ozarks (5-3) controlled the first quarter, shooting 53.3% from the field, with Lili Garcia pacing the Eagles with 14 points and eight rebounds. Dalena Fisher came off the bench to match Garcia's scoring, also contributing four rebounds. However, the Eagles struggled to maintain their early momentum, shooting just 27.3% in the final period.  

Millsaps made their move in the second half, outscoring Ozarks 38-23 across the final two quarters. The Majors capitalized on 15 turnovers by the Eagles, converting them into 23 points. Millsaps' bench also outscored Ozarks' reserves 14-18.  

Despite the Eagles' dominance on the boards with a 39-35 rebounding advantage, including nine offensive rebounds, the Majors' late-game composure and efficient second-half shooting secured the win.
