THE BASICS
Shreveport, La. – The Eagles remained hot to open the season and posted a 89-78  conference win over Centenary College Wednesday night. It was the Eagles fifth straight win. The Eagles built a 52-35 halftime lead behind a shooting performance that saw them hit 56 percent from the field. The Eagles would finish out the first half with a 10-2 run. Within the first three minutes of the second half, the Eagles held a 63-37 lead. Centenary would eventually trim the deficit to single digits, but it wouldn't matter as the Eagles reeled off eight straight points. The Eagles had a dominating rebounding performance grabbing 55 boards while limiting Centenary to 25. Justice Marmara and Eric Gooden each scored 20 points. Marmara also pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double.
