Game One Overview
Clarksville, Ark.- University of St. Thomas spoiled the Eagles season-opener with a 4-1 win in game one on Friday afternoon at Clarksville High School. St. Thomas generated all four of their runs in the first inning with a grand slam. The Eagles settled in after that and didn't allow another run. Starting pitcher Jake Estrada fanned seven in 3.2 innings of work and allowed just one hit. The Eagles scored their run in the bottom of the seventh on a passed ball. The Eagles loaded the bases in the fifth, but couldn't push across any runs. St. Thomas finished with five hits while the Eagles totaled three, two of which came from Cole Clark.

Game Two Overview
Catcher Jake Dempsey provided the heroics for the Eagles in game two with a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth for a 5-4 victory. After the Eagles tied the game 2-2 in the third, St. Thomas kept the lead all the way until the bottom half of the ninth. In the second frame, Langdon Townsend doubled in a run and in the third Isaac Price crossed the plate. Townsend struck again in the sixth with an RBI to bring the Eagles within 4-3. Cason Brigham struck out the final batter he faced in the top of the ninth to set up a comeback. With one out, Clark and Ethan Cash had back-to-back walks. Alfredo Reid was inserted as a pinch runner and then both runners would advance a base on a wild pitch. Brice Cagle was intentionally walked to load the bases. With one out, Dempsey delivered a sharp single to leftcenter to score the game-winning run. The Eagles tallied six hits while St. Thomas had seven. Dempsey and Townsend each had two hits and two RBI. Brinham pitched two innings in relief to receive the win.
