GAME TWO
Overview:
Isaiah Lemke tossed a seven-inning two-hit complete game to lead the Eagles to a 5-1 win over Mary Hardin-Baylor in game two. Lemke was spectacular in his outing striking out six and allowing only one run. The sophomore from Gentry didn't allow a hit until the sixth inning. The Eagles gave Lemke enough run support scoring twice in the first and three times in the seventh. In the first, Bennett and
Jake Dempsey had RBI. The Crusaders eventually made the score 2-1 in the sixth. But the Eagles got an RBI triple from
Daulton Johnson, an RBI single from
Juan Munoz and an RBI ground out from Dempsey in the seventh. In the bottom of the seventh, Lemke got a ground out, a strike out and another ground out to end the game. The Eagles had 11 hits in the win, with
Conner Reed going 3-for-4. It was Lemke's third win of the season.
Coach Gentry Quote:
"This was a great team win. We got a solid pitching performance from Lemke with the complete game and our offense had key hits to score runs. We played very well defensively as a team."
