HOW IT HAPPENED
Houston, Texas – University of St. Thomas edged the Eagles 3-2 on Sunday afternoon with all five goals coming in the first half. St. Thomas would storm out to a 3-0 lead before the Eagles made a furious comeback. St. Thomas netted a goal in the 5th minute and then added another in the 19th minute. Their final goal came in the 27th minute. Trailing 3-0, it didn't discourage the Eagles as Giovanni Casias nailed a penalty kick in the 31st minute. Using that momentum, Casias scored again in the 37th minute to trim the deficit to 3-2. A combined 13 shots were taken in the second half but neither team could connect. Casias finished with six shots in the match.
