Longview, Texas – The Eagles dropped matches this weekend against McMurry University 3-1, Colorado College 3-0, and University of St. Thomas 3-0 at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference crossover in Longview, Texas.
On Saturday, the Eagles opened the match defending against McMurry's aggressive kills with key attacks from Arianna Gomez and Brooke Humphrey. The Eagles would eventually lose 25-10 and 25-19. On the third set, the Eagles won 25-17 with aggressive attacks by Gomez and Humphrey and assistance from Jillian Childs. On the fourth set, the Eagles were defeated 25-18. Brooke Humphrey had 15 kills, Arianna Gomez had nine kills and Lauralai Bradley recorded 16 digs.
In the second match of the day, the Eagles came back to court to fight against Colorado College scoring sets of 25-18, 25-6 and 25-15. The Eagles settled 23 kills, 87 total attacks, and a hitting percentage of 0.46. Arianna Gomez had eight kills, Lauralai Bradley recorded six digs and Alyssa Carlisle had eight assists.
On Sunday, the Eagles encountered a match against University of St. Thomas with set scores of 25-11, 25-12, and 25-7. Ozarks put down 80 total attacks with Humphrey leading with nine kills. Childs had six assists and Bradley had eight digs.
The Eagles will host Lyon College on October 28th at 6 p.m. as a Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Game.
