THE BASICS
Memphis, Tenn. – The Eagles opened the 2025-2026 season with a 86-73 loss against Hanover College Friday night in Memphis at the Rhodes College Classic. Hanover owned a 18-14 lead after the first quarter and then built a 41-32 advantage at halftime. The Eagles would have a better shooting percentage in the first half than Hanover, but the Panthers would have the advantage on points in the paint. In the third quarter, the Eagles pulled within 43-38 on Abby Beene's layup. However, Hanover held a double digit lead the entire fourth quarter except for one possession. Hanover was aided in the fourth quarter by going to the free throw line 15 times.

TURNING POINT
Hanover owned a 67-39 rebound advantage in the game to keep the Eagles from second chance points.

TIP-INS
Lila Hartness opened her career at Ozarks with a 21-point performance. Hartness hit 3-of-7 from the three-point line while dishing out five assists and grabbing eight rebounds.

The Eagles will face Westminster College November 8 at 3 p.m. to wrap up their Memphis trip.
