Clarksville, Ark. – The University of the Ozarks athletic department has announced its fifth class of Chi Alpha Sigma National College Athlete Honor Society members.
Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes college student-athletes who receive a varsity letter in their sport, achieve junior academic standing or higher after their fifth full time semester, display good character and earn a 3.50 or higher cumulative grade point average. The student-athletes were recognized at the department's athletic awards ceremony last week.
This year's chapter at Ozarks includes 23 student-athletes who excel in both the classroom and competition. A student-athlete can only become a member once during their collegiate career.

Gabriella Davis, an elementary education major and tennis player from Russellville, Ark.; Zackery

Erika Jones, a history major and tennis player from Van Buren, Ark.;
Adam Lopez, a health science major and basketball player from Dallas, Texas;
Saige Mahar, a psychology major and softball player from Waldron, Ark.;
Justice Marmara, a management major and basketball player from Arlington, Texas;
Christian Martinez, a business administration major and baseball player from the Dominican Republic;

Chi Alpha Sigma is the first and only nonprofit organization that was established to recognize collegiate student-athletes who excel both on and off the field of competition from accredited four-year NCAA, NAIA, USCAA or NCCAA institutions. Founded in 1996 by then DePauw University head football coach, Nick Mourouzis, Chi Alpha Sigma continues to provide outstanding student-athletes with an opportunity to become connected within a fraternal association that aligns their educational and athletic successes for a lifetime.
