Baseball Program Earns Academic Award From ABCA

Clarksville, Ark. – For the second straight year and the fourth time in the last six years, the University of the Ozarks baseball team was among the recipients of the American Baseball Coaches Association's (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award.
     
Under head coach Aaron Gentry, the Eagles were one of 171 NCAA Division III programs on the list to maintain at least a 3.0 GPA for the 2024-2025 academic year. 

To earn the ABCA Academic Excellence Award, teams must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average during the 2024-2025 academic year, and their coach must be a member of the organization.
The Eagles had 17 players achieved a spot on the Southeran Collegiate Athletic Conference Academic Honor Roll after the spring semester. 
     
The ABCA has a long tradition of recognizing the achievements of baseball coaches and student-athletes. The ABCA/Rawlings All-America Teams are the nation's oldest, founded in 1949, and the ABCA's awards program also includes the ABCA/Rawlings All-Region Awards, the ABCA/Diamond Sports Regional & National Coaches of the Year and several other major awards such as the ABCA Hall of Fame and Dave Keilitz Ethics in Coaching Award.
