Box Score Batesville, Ark. – The Eagles hit the road for a match against in-state opponent Lyon College and came up short 3-1 on Tuesday night.

Lyon College opened the match with a 25-21 win in the first set. But the Eagles battled back to a 25-20 win in the second set fueled by a 5-0 run to end it. The third set was another close tilt with the score tied 22-22 before Lyon scored three straight points. It was another back-and-forth battle in the fourth set with the score 11-11. Lyon slowing built a 22-18 lead and then capped the clinching set with three straight points.
     
Arianna Gomez had 11 kills. Brooke Humphreys recorded 18 digs while Lauralai Bradley had 14. Alyssa Carlisle had 12assists.

The Eagles will host its first conference match of the season when University of Dallas comes to Clarksville September 20. The Eagles then host conference opponent Austin College September 21.
