HOW IT HAPPENED
Clarksville, Ark. – No. 3 Emory University proved worthy of its national ranking with an impressive 4-0 shutout win over the Eagles Friday night in front of a vocal student section. After a strong Eagle showing in the opening ten minutes of the match, Emory broke through the Eagle defense and scored to make it 1-0. Emory followed with another goal in the 27th minute and then caught the Eagles off guard with a third goal one minute later. Emory established momentum in the first half while recording ten shots to hold a 3-0 advantage at halftime. The Eagles were limited in the first half with one shot, but came out in the second half with more fire and produced three quality shots. Meanwhile, Emory scored the fourth goal in the 69th minute to make a comeback difficult for the Eagles.
Rasto Rimbo caused problems for the Emory defense all night and led the Eagles with two shots.
