Clarksville, Ark. - The winningest softball coach at University of Central Arkansas (UCA) and Delta State University has joined the athletic staff at Ozarks as the new softball coach.
David Kuhn, who has over 800 collegiate career wins, was announced today to lead the Eagles' program. A native of Greenville, Mississippi, Kuhn posted 380 wins at UCA while leading the Bears to nine straight conference championship tournaments. The Bears won the 2015 conference championship and advanced to the NCAA regional championship that season. At Delta State, he accumulated 368 wins and guided the Lady Statesmen to ten straight conference championship tournaments and an NCAA II regional championship appearance. In addition to his success at UCA and Delta State, Kuhn had an impressive run at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College (MGCCC) owning a 131-92 record over four seasons.

Kuhn has 27 years of collegiate coaching experience at the NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II and National Junior College Athletic Association levels. He has posted 30-plus winning seasons 17 times as a head coach.

In 13 seasons as head coach at UCA, Kuhn's club defeated six nationally ranked teams and had the program's first wins over SEC and ACC opponents. He had over 40 All-Conference players, the conference Pitcher of the Year and the Conference Hitter of the Year and numerous players on the conference All-Academic team.
In ten seasons at Delta State, Kuhn had a 49-win campaign and was named the GSC West Division Coach of the Year in 2005 and 2006. He coached two All-Americans, 21 All-Region selections and 64 All-Gulf South Conference selections.
In four years at MGCCC, Kuhn guided the Bulldogs to three consecutive playoff appearances, highlighted by his 2023 team winning 39 games. Overall, his teams produced two All-Americans, five All-Region performers and 13 All-Conference selections.
Kuhn most recently served as the Athletic Director at Mississippi Delta Community College.
A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Kuhn earned a bachelor's degree and a Master of Education in Social Studies from Delta State. He and his wife, Sharon, are the parents of two daughters – Taylor and Cheyenne.
