THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – The Eagles hung tough in the second half only to have No. 7 University of St. Thomas take a 57-41 win on Friday night. The Eagles had a slow start to the game as nationally-ranked St. Thomas scored 15 points before allowing a point. St. Thomas would head into halftime holding a 32-23 advantage. In the second half, the Eagles were within striking distance after a strong opening five minutes. A layup from
Eyal Shamri got the Eagles within 35-32 at the 15:31 mark.
Vanya Nikolic tied the game on the Eagles next possession with a three-pointer. The game remained close for the next seven minutes, but St. Thomas slowly pulled away in the final five.
Luke Proctor scored nine points to lead the Eagles.
TURNING POINT
St. Thomas held the Eagles to a season-low 41 points.
TIP-INS
Jagger Worley provided a spark off the bench and played 31 minutes hitting a pair of big three-pointers and finishing with eight points.
