THE BASICS
Sherman, Texas – Austin College battled to a 63-50 win over the Eagles Thursday night in Texas. The Eagles had a tough night shooting the ball hitting only 21 percent from the field. Austin built a narrow 12-8 lead after the first quarter, but then scored 28 second quarter points to hold a sizable halftime advantage. Austin College cruised through the third quarter, but the Eagles had an improved fourth quarter outscoring the home team 15-7. However, it wouldn't be enough for the Eagles as Austin responded in the end. Lila Hartness led the Eagles with 15 points. She drilled a trio of three-pointers.

Austin College scored 28 second quarter points to 40-20 lead at halftime and the Eagles had trouble making up ground.

The Eagles hit 21-of-24 from the free throw line with five different players shooting perfect from the charity stripe.
