Clarksville, Ark. - The University of the Ozarks men's soccer team earned a 2-1 victory over the University of Dallas on Friday evening behind an Oliver Bell game-winner in the conference opener.
The Eagles wasted little time getting on the scoreboard. Jordan Grimaldo found the back of the net just 24 seconds into the match, giving the Eagles an early 1-0 advantage.
Dallas responded shortly after halftime when Jaxon Reischl scored at the 46:07 mark off an assist from Ryan Martinez, tying the match at 1-1.
The Eagles continued to pressure the Dallas defense and eventually regained the lead in the 86th minute. Oliver Bell scored his first goal of the season at 85:36, with Hector Pacheco and Hayden Pickering providing the assists.
Ozarks controlled the offensive statistics throughout the match, finishing with a 14-2 advantage in shots and an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. The Eagles put five shots on goal, while Dallas managed just one.
The Ozarks defense also limited Dallas to just two total shots and prevented the Crusaders from generating sustained offensive pressure after Bell's go-ahead goal.
