Seguin, Texas - The University of the Ozarks volleyball team fell to the University of St. Thomas 3-0 Friday evening by scores of 25-19, 25-22 and 25-15.
The Eagles battled throughout the opening set, recording 14 kills, but St. Thomas used a strong offensive performance to take the frame 25-19.
The Eagles continued to compete in the second set, finishing with seven kills while committing just two errors. St. Thomas, however, closed out the set 25-22 to take a 2-0 advantage.
The Celts controlled the third set, hitting .294 with 13 kills to secure the 25-15 victory and complete the sweep.
Brooke Humphrey led the Eagles with seven kills, while Caylie Apperson and Marlo Hollis each added five. Apperson also recorded a team-high three blocks.
Gabby Dotson paced the Ozarks offense with 11 assists, followed by Jillian Childs with eight. Lauralai Bradley and Claire Zeiler each recorded 12 digs, while Humphrey added nine.
Anna Campbell and Humphrey each served one ace for the Eagles.
The Eagles will take on Concordia and Texas Lutheran Saturday in Texas.
