Clarksville, Ark. - The University of the Ozarks women's and men's cross country teams will compete in the 2026 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Men's and Women's Cross Country Championships this Saturday in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

The Championships are being hosted by Colorado College and will be run at Monument Valley Park North in Colorado Springs. The races will begin with the women's 6K scheduled to start at 9:00 am CT and the men's 8K to follow at 10:00 am CT.  Monument Valley Park, stretching along Monument Creek in the heart of Colorado Springs, is one of the city's most historic and beloved green spaces that features scenic gardens and running trails —all within walking distance of downtown
 
Under the direction of second year head coach Cash Kunkel, the 2026 Eagles have soared to new heights breaking team and individual records with some of the fastest times in school history. After a strong finish at last season's championships, the Eagles look to finish even higher in Colorado. In 2025, the women's team had their highest finish at a conference championship in over 25 years placing third. Six runners finished among the top-50 in the 6k race. Macy Weathers is the team's top finisher from a year ago after she placed 28th with a time of 25:25.66. Last season the men's team had its highest finish at a conference championship since 2019 placing fourth. Seven runners finished among the top-50 in the race, with Matthew Dunsworth leading the way with a fifth-place finish. Dunsworth posted a time of 25:19.90 and was named All-Conference for his performance. Both teams have competed against top-notch runners at all levels of the NCAA as well as NAIA runners this season.
