THE BASICS
Clarksville, Ark. – Centenary College escaped with a 62-60 win over the Eagles on Saturday that came down the wire. The Eagles did have the last possession, but a desperation shot was no good as the buzzer sounded. The Eagles had their chances late missing their last four three-point attempts. Still, the Eagles hung around and pulled within 62-59 on an
Adam Lopez inside bucket with less than a minute to play. Centenary would miss a free throw with six seconds remaining allowing the Eagles to grab the rebound. Centenary followed with a foul and
Dylan Archey went to the line making the first. Archey missed his next attempt and the Eagles got the rebound and scored, but a lane violation was called and the basket was waived off. Lopez and
Vanya Nikolic each had 14 points.
TURNING POINT
Centenary clung on late even though the Eagles had chances to take the lead, including a basket being waived off with just seconds to go.
