LeTourneau Wins 15-12 Slugfest

Clarksville, Ark. - In a high-scoring back-and-forth contest, LeTourneau held off a late push from Ozarks to secure a 15-12 SCAC victory Friday evening at Lonnie Qualls Field.

LeTourneau jumped out early with three runs in the first inning, but the Eagles answered immediately, tying the game at 3-3 behind RBI hits from Gabriel Ellison and Jacob Knox.

The game remained tight through the middle innings, with both teams trading runs. Ozarks knotted the score again at 6-6 in the third inning after Knox launched his first home run of the game and Joseph Coon added a sacrifice fly.
LeTourneau created separation in the fifth inning, scoring four runs to take an 11-6 lead. 

Ozarks responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs, fueled by Knox's second home run and a two-RBI single from Connor Reed to cut the deficit to 11-9.

LeTourneau added insurance in the sixth, capitalizing on a double by Cody Brady and an Ozarks error to extend the lead to 13-9. Ozarks made one final push in the seventh inning when Ellison delivered a two-RBI double to bring the score to 13-11. The Eagles then had two runners on in the bottom of the ninth, but couldn't push either across.

Top Performers Ozarks finished with 15 hits but were hindered by four defensive errors, which proved costly in the tightly contested matchup.

The Eagles will finish their series tomorrow against LeTourneau with a double-header beginning at noon.
