History Made, Eagles Win First Post-Season Game

Abilene, Texas - The Eagles softball team delivered a complete performance on Saturday morning shutting out McMurry 5-0 to record its first post-season victory in program history at the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships.

The Eagles will now take on Texas Lutheran University Saturday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

"Bailee came out and threw a gem and they made some really good plays on defense," said head coach David Kuhn. "We were able to get on the board early and take advantage of some timely hits. We kept momentum on our side and beat a very good McMurry team."

The Eagles rode a dominant outing from Bailee Cowell, who tossed a complete-game shutout. The right-hander scattered six hits, struck out five, and allowed just one walk across seven innings to secure the win.

The Eagles wasted no time getting on the board in the first inning. Kendall Lynch drove in the game's opening run with an RBI single, scoring Kamryn Uher for an early 1-0 lead.

The Eagles broke things open in the third inning with a three-run frame. Isabella Hulsey added an RBI single before Lynch delivered again, driving in two more runs to extend the lead to 4-0. Ozarks capitalized on defensive miscues by McMurry, with multiple runs in the inning going down as unearned.

Emma Reynolds provided the final cushion in the fifth inning, launching a solo home run to push the advantage to 5-0.

At the plate, Ozarks tallied 10 hits, led by:
