Baseball Duo Honored For Academics

Clarksville, Ark. – A University of the Ozarks baseball duo was named to the 2026 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Baseball Academic All-District Team, it was announced this week.

CSC, formerly known as CoSIDA, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in the classroom and on the field. 

The honorees included Brett Burks, a junior management major from Claremore, Oklahoma and Gabriel Ellison, a junior biology major from Danville, Arkansas.

To be eligible for the CSC Academic All-America® program student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average, be a significant contributor to the team (must compete in 90 percent of the institution's games played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings.) and be at least a sophomore academically.
